- 1 large egg
- 2 garlic cloves minced
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- For the Savory Onion Sauce:
- 3 large yellow onions thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves minced
- 1 tsp sugar to help caramelize the onions
- 1 tsp dried thyme or fresh sprigs
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 4 cups beef broth low sodium preferred
- ½ cup dry white wine optional, for depth of flavor
- Salt and pepper to taste
