- Add cranberries and water (or orange juice) to a small saucepan and place over medium heat.
- Cook for 6–8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cranberries burst and soften.
- Reduce heat and simmer until the mixture thickens slightly, then remove from heat.
- Allow the cranberry mixture to cool completely.
- In a bowl, beat the softened butter with honey until light and creamy.
- Add the cooled cranberry mixture, salt, and optional zest and cinnamon.
- Mix gently until evenly combined and marbled.
- Transfer to a jar and chill for at least 30 minutes before serving.
