- Step 1: Prepare the Chili Sauce
- Remove stems and seeds from dried chilies.
- Toast chilies lightly in a skillet until fragrant.
- Soak in hot water for 10–15 minutes.
- Blend with garlic, onion, tomatoes, vinegar, cumin, oregano, cloves, and some soaking liquid until smooth.
- Step 2: Cook the Meat
- Rub beef with chili sauce, marinate 2 hours (overnight is best).
- Place beef in a pot with broth, bay leaves, and cinnamon stick.
- Simmer 3–4 hours until beef is fork-tender.
- Step 3: Shred the Beef & Make Consommé
- Remove beef, shred with forks.
- Strain broth to create consommé.
- Step 4: Assemble Tacos
- Dip tortillas in consommé, fry on skillet.
- Add cheese and shredded beef, fold into tacos.
- Cook until crispy and golden.
- Step 5: Serve & Enjoy
- Serve hot with consommé for dipping. Garnish with cilantro, onion, and lime.
